If it ain’t country, it ain’t music!

… read the sign across the stage at the Jones Jamboree. Lou Jones is an organic farmer who supplies Jerry with barley for his animal feed. Twenty-two years ago he and a few friends decided that it was time to take their annual jam session to the big stage. The jamboree lasts for the entire weekend beginning friday night, though we were only there for about five hours on Sunday. I’ve definitely had my fill of country music for a good while…

The event is like something out of another time and another place. The attendees’ average age was probably about 60 (and that’s brought down by a few young kids who go with their families). It seems like a shame that things like this are probably on their way out, couples dancing (innocently) to wholesome, though not always happy, country music. I don’t know, I guess times are always a’changing.
