merry new year(s?) y’all

i’ve never been able to figure out whether it’s “new years” (“new year’s”?) or “new year”. haha somebody please explain. it seems like only yesterday (last year) that it was 2000’s new year. time goes quickly, before we know it we’ll all be out of high school (or college if you’re already out of high school) with real jobs/careers and married with children(!!!) and houses with front and backyards and perhaps a pet or two… sighya, it’s scary to think about it.

i think i’ve only just begun to realize how long life is gonna be. that is, unless mine’s cut short by some accident or something. but yeah, these past seventeen (and a half) years have been a lifetime and to think that it’s only 1/4 or 1/5 or 1/10 (hahaha) of my life is hard to believe. to think that i’ve gone from a fat little boy whose mom dressed him to a taller-lessfat-bigger boy (who is still dressed by his mom… haha jk, though sometimes you probably can’t tell).

sometimes i wonder how life would be if i’d stayed in the private schooling system (had that one incident with the ‘kidnapping’ not occurred), or if i’d stayed in evergreen with my filipino homies (not to mention joel, my jewish friend). don’t get me wrong i love where i am now, but it’s just fun to ponder the “what ifs”. it’s funny though how even then when i just fell in with a crowd, my friends happened to be (probably) the smartest kids in the school. and when i camed to almaden in 4th grade, i fell in with brian and them, who, once again were (or at least turned out to be) pretty much the smartest kids, the “asians”. haha.

i wonder what i’ll be like when i’m 34.
